3. Intellectual property
Unless stated otherwise, the texts, the optics and advisor calculations, the eyepiece simulator, the code and the layout of this site are the work of its publisher and may not be reproduced without permission, except for short quotations with attribution and a link back. Instrument specifications are drawn from manufacturers' own published data; the facts themselves belong to no one. Product photographs and reference sky photographs are credited separately, below. Brand and model names belong to their respective owners.
4. Affiliate links
Some links to retailers on this site are affiliate links, marked as such wherever they appear: buying through one costs you nothing extra and pays Aperture a small commission. Which retailer pays what, and how the ranking stays independent of it, is stated in full on the disclosure page.

6. Photo and data credits
- Product photographs are Astroshop's official images, used under its partner programme.
- Reference sky photographs are credited where they appear and on the simulator page.
- The estimated sky by town on the Tonight page is computed from the VIIRS Day/Night Band monthly composites of the Earth Observation Group (Payne Institute, Colorado School of Mines), distributed by the World Bank's Light Every Night open data under CC BY 4.0 and reprocessed by Aperture; commune positions come from geo.api.gouv.fr (Licence Ouverte 2.0).
7. Liability
Aperture is an advisory resource, not a retailer: it recommends instrument classes and products but sells nothing itself. Specifications, prices and observing heuristics are compiled from manufacturers, retailers and the observing sources cited on each page, and may contain errors or fall out of date between visits — every price and every observation carries the date it was taken, for exactly that reason. Aperture cannot be held liable for a purchase made on the basis of this site, nor for the content of external sites it links to. Corrections are welcome at the contact address.
8. Applicable law
This site is governed by French law. Any dispute that cannot be settled amicably falls under the jurisdiction of the competent French courts.
